
Pitts Named NEC Baseball Player of the Week; Four Named Prime Performers
Central Connecticut outfielder Gabe Pitts was named Northeast Conference Baseball Player of the Week it was announced Tuesday. Pitts was joined on the league's list of Prime Performers by Vincent Borghese, Chris Brown and Aidan Redahan after helping CCSU run their win streak to seven games.
Pitts batted a team-high .625 last week and had a team-leading four steals, nine runs and 10 hits. He had three hits in three games last week and hit his first career homerun midweek vs. Sacred Heart. He totaled four hits, five RBIs and three runs in a doubleheader sweep at Delaware State on Saturday.

Borghese won his sixth straight decision, tossing his fifth straight complete game. In a win at Delaware State, he retired the final 15 batters he faced and matched a career-high with 10 strikeouts

Brown tied for the team lead with eight RBIs last week. He had four hits and three RBIs in series opener at Delaware State and then drove in five runs in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader

Redahan extended his streak of reaching base safely to 22 games. He tied for the team lead with eight RBIs as well. He Had four hits and four RBIs in the series opener at Delaware State then collected three hits with three RBIs in the series finale. He drew four walks in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader.
