
Baseball Falls at Quinnipiac in Midweek Action
The Central Connecticut baseball team fell at Quinnipiac, 13-7, in a midweek contest on Tuesday. The Blue Devils scored six runs in the sixth inning, but the Bobcats would score nine runs over their final three at bats.

KEY MOMENTS
- Quinnipiac scored three runs in the first, highlighted by a Sebastian Mueller homerun. He would drive in his third run of the game with a sac fly in the second inning to make it 4-0.
- Central drew a pair of walks with one out in the sixth inning to set the table for Brandon O'Neill who tripled to center field to drive in a pair. He scored on the next batter when Colby Brouilette singled to make it 4-3. With the two outs, a string of hits by Owen Arias, Brady Short and Gianno Merlonghi would result in three more runs to make it 6-4.
- QU came back with five runs in the bottom of the sixth to go ahead. Christian Smith hit a three-run home to make it 9-6.
- CCSU got a run back in the eighth on a sac fly by Aidan Redahan, but the Bobcats would hit three solo homeruns in the bottom of the frame, including back-to-back homers from Mueller and Smith.
NOTES
- CCSU banged out 11 hits in the first game – topping 10 hits for third time in the past four games.
- Merlonghi had two hits and two RBIs
- O'Neill had two runs batted in.
- Short, Brouillette and Arias each added two hits.
- Richie Kerstetter and Alexander Kasbarian each tossed 2.0 shutout innings.
