
Baseball Falls in the Ninth Inning at St. John's
The Central Connecticut baseball team lost at St. John's, 9-8, on Wednesday in Queens, NY. The loss snapped a seven-game win streak for the Blue Devils, while the Red Storm scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils took a one-run lead in the fifth inning Colby Brouillette reached on a fielder's choice with two outs. He scored on the next batter when Owen Arias doubled to left field to drive Brouillette in.
- Central pushed across four runs in the top of the seventh inning after loading the bases with one out. Kyle Gordon singled in a run, followed by a two-run single by Aidan Redahan to make it 4-1. A wild pitch would bring across another run to make it 5-1.
- St. John's would get on the board with four runs in the seventh. Adam Agresti had an RBI double and Jace Jeremiah singled in a run. Jon LeGrande added an RBI-single, while a sac fly would cut the lead to 5-4.
- CCSU put runners on second and third with one out in the eighth. Redahan delivered a two-run single to push the lead to 7-4.
- The Red Storm won with fourruns in the ninth. After an RBI groundout, Raifstangeerhit a solo homerun to tie the game. A pair of singles put runners on the corners before a balk allowed the winning run to score.
NOTES
- Brock Pare started and tossed 5.0 shutout innings. He allowed just one hit, while striking out three.
- Central had 11 hits as a team – its ninth straight game with 10+ hits.
- Redahan went 3-for-5 with four RBIs.
- Arias was 2-for-2 with two runs, while Gordon and Brady Short each added two hits.
- The teams were meeting for just the second time. SJU has won both meetings.
