
Baseball Downs FDU, 11-1, on Saturday
The Central Connecticut baseball team won its fourth straight Northeast Conference contest with a 11-1 victory against FDU on Saturday in New Britain, CT. Vincent Borghese threw his second straight complete game, while Jackson Haker and Antonio Ducatelli each hit home runs.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Knights got a leadoff double by Nate Dudeck in the third and he would come around to score following a pair of wild pitches, but that would be all the scoring they would manage off Borghese.
- CCSU responded with two runs in the bottom of the third. The Blue Devils strung together three straight two out hits, beginning with a double by Brady Short. He scored on a double by Gianno Merlonghi and Aidan Redahan followed with a single to make it 2-1.
- In the fourth inning, Ducatelli led off with a walk and moved to third on a double by Chris Brown. A groundout by Colby Brouillette would score Ducatelli to make it 3-1.
- Central added to its lead in the fifth with three runs. After Merlonghi led off with a walk and moved to second on a balk, Redahan hit a ground-rule double to drive in a run. Haker followed with a homerun to centerfield to make it 6-1.
- CCSU loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth inning when Ducatelli sent his first career homerun over the fence in right field to make it 10-1
- The Blue Devils would open the seventh with three straight hits. Brouillette doubled, followed by a single by Gabe Pitts. Matt Falk made it a 10-run game with a single to centerfield.
NOTES
- Borghese struck out seven and allowed just four hits in 7.0 innings.
- Every hitter in the CCSU starting lineup had a hit as the Blue Devils banged out 12 hits, including 7 for extra-bases.
- Redahan went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
- Merlonghi added two hits, while scoring three runs.
- Haker had two runs and two RBIs, while Ducatelli had four RBIs and two runs scored.
- CCSU leads the all-time series, 65-31, and has won the last four meetings.
