
Redahan Named NEC Baseball Player of the Week; Yaworski Recognized
Central Connecticut infielder Aidan Redahan was named Northeast Conference Baseball Player of the Week it was announced Tuesday. Redahan was joined on the league's list of Prime Performers by Bo Yaworski after the pair helped the Blue Devils run their conference win streak to eight games.
Redahan had it all working at the plate last week as CCSU swept four games, extending its win streak to seven. The senior went 8-for-14 (.571), driving in two runs in each game for a total of eight on the week, while also scoring nine runs himself. The Greenwich, CT native played a big role in the Blue Devils' 6-5 triumph over intra-state rival Fairfield on Wednesday, smashing a homer to tie things up in the third inning before scoring the game-winning run as CCSU walked it off in the ninth. In Saturday's 12-2 win over Mercyhurst, Redahan went 3-for-3 and finished the three-game set with a .667 average, going 6-for-9 at the plate. CCSU owns an 11-3 overall record so far this season along with an 8-1 NEC mark, which puts them at the top of the conference standings. The Blue Devils' seven-straight wins is tied with Arkansas and Penn for the longest active streak in NCAA Division I.

Yaworski drove in a team-high nine runs last week, helping CCSU run its win streak to seven games overall. Yaworski had three hits in a win over Fairfield and then collected three RBIs in each game of the series against Mercyhurst. He is hitting .409 on the year with 16 RBIs on the season.
