
Baseball Takes Series Opener From Coppin State on Friday
The Central Connecticut baseball team plated 10 first inning runs to win its ninth consecutive Northeast Conference game, defeating visiting Coppin State 17-1, in New Britain on Friday. Nine different Blue Devils recorded a hit in the game and Drew Munn tossed a complete-game to win his third straight decision.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils sent 14 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning and scored 10 runs, all with two outs, after retiring Coppin State in order in the top of the frame. Chris Brown drove in the first run, with a two-out double, and finished the inning 2-2 with four RBI.
- Central tacked on three runs in the bottom of the second, without a hit, as they batted around and earned six walks
- Brady Short singled with one out in the home fourth, stole second and came around on an RBI single from Aidan Redahan to make the score 14-0
- Daniel Moore broke up the perfect game bid from Drew Munn with a lead off single to start the fifth.
- Brandon O'Neill laced a bases clearing double to right center field, with two outs in the sixth inning, to put Central in front 17-0.
- Jamar Whitehead hit a solo homerun with one out in the seventh to account for the Eagles' lone run.

- Brown earned a leadoff walk to open the bottom of the second inning, and became the ninth Blue Devil starter to reach base in the game.

- Munn won his third straight start, fanning three, while allowing just two hits and walking one.
