CCSU has a 32-11 overall record and a 25-5 mark in conference play and won the program's first regular season championship since 2006. Head coach Charlie Hickey, the all-time winningest coach at CCSU, is in his 24th season at the helm and has led CCSU to 25+ wins in 18 seasons. The Blue Devils are playing in the NEC Tournament for the 19th time and have an all-time record of 36-26. CCSU has won seven NEC titles overall (2002, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2017, 2019. 2021) and is the only school in league history to win three straight tournament championships (2002-04).

The six-team championship begins on Wednesday, May 24, and will feature a double-elimination format, playing three games on Wednesday and Thursday, and two on Friday and Saturday and one game if necessary on Sunday.
The Blue Devils and second seeded Wagner both earned byes and won't play until Thursday. Third-seeded FDU and sixth-seeded UMES open the championship at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with fourth-seeded Sacred Heart and fifth-seeded LIU playing at 3:00 p.m. CCSU plays the lower seeded winner of the opening two games in the 11:00 a.m. contest on Thursday.
Dutchess Stadium, a 4,494-seat ballpark, is the home of the Hudson Valley Renegades, the High A affiliate of the New York Yankees, opened on June 18, 1994.
