Baseball Claims Midweek Win at UAlbany on Tuesday
The Central Connecticut baseball team completed a three-game sweep of its Northeast Conference series at Merrimack with an 11-7 win on Tuesday in Albany, NY. Drew Munn allowed one run over five innings of work, while Ramon Jimenez and Dan Hussey each added a homerun.

The Blue Devils return home to host Coppin State for a three-game series beginning Friday at 3:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the top of the second. Danny Rogers reached on an error to open the inning. After a fly out, Derek Haughey reached on a fielder's choice and was followed by Josh Taylor who sent the ball over the left field fence to make it 2-0.
- Central tacked on three runs in the third after the Great Danes got a run back. Brady Short reached via an error to lead off the inning and then stole second. Hunter Pasqualini singled to put runners on the corners. Ramon Jimenez would follow with a homer over the fence in left to make it 5-1.
- Dan Hussey led off the fifth inning with a double to center field and advanced to third on a fly out. A passed ball allowed Hussey to score and push the Blue Devils' lead to 6-1.
- The Blue Devils would load the bases with one out in the sixth following three base on balls. Haughey would cross home on a wild pitch before Dan Hussey followed with a bases clearing three-run homer to right field to make it 10-1. Hunter Pasqualini would draw a walk and moved to second on a passed ball. Following a wild pitch, Pasqualini would hustle around the bases and score from second to push the lead to 10 runs.
NOTES
- The teams were meeting for the second time this season, the Great Danes won at CCSU back on March 8. The Blue Devils have won two of the last three meetings.
- Drew Munn went 5.0 innings in the start and allowed just two hits on the afternoon. He allowed just one unearned run.
- Jack Kelley, Randy Reyes and Nic Benhardt combined to allow just two hits over 4.0 innings.
- Jimenez homered in his third straight game with his third inning blast.
- Hussey launched his fifth homerun in five games. He finished with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored.
- Good singled in the fourth inning to push his hitting streak to 13 games.
