
Women's Soccer Continues Its Win Streak With Fourth Straight Shutout, Tops Wagner 1-0
Senior Nicki Turley records her sixth shutout of the season
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team beat Wagner Friday night 1-0, to remain unbeaten in league play and move its Northeast Conference record to 4-0. The Blue Devils are 6-8-1 on the season.
Freshman Carla Jackson scored in her fourth straight game to lead the offense. Her goal at 25:41 in the first half was her fourth of the year. She is the team leader in goals and points this season.
Wagner falls to 2-12 on the year and 1-3 in NEC play with the loss.
Jackson fired a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal off of a pass from junior Kelly Halligan to give Central the game's only goal. The freshman has now scored in every NEC game this season for the Blue Devils.
Senior Nicki Turley recorded her fourth straight shutout and sixth on the season. Turley had three saves on the night and has not allowed a goal in any of the four NEC games this season. She has not allowed a goal in 407:09.
The Blue Devils play again on Sunday, Oct. 16th when they take on Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. at home on the CCSU Soccer Field.
