
Jackson Named NEC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Freshman Carla Jackson's heroics in the Blue Devil's first Northeast Conference contest spark weekly accolade.
Freshman midfielder, Carla Jackson of the Central Connecticut women's soccer team was announced on Monday as the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week.
Jackson was the hero in CCSU's 1-0 win over Mount St. Mary's in its NEC opener on Sunday. The Glasgow, Scotland native netted the golden goal with 21 seconds left in regulation, converting a shot between two defenders from 12 yards out for her first career tally as a Blue Devil.
With the victory, the women's soccer team improves their overall record to 3-8-1 on the year.
Jackson's heriocs set her team off on the right foot with a 1-0 record in Northeast Conference play. Central is back on the field on Friday, October 7th, when it faces Bryant as its next opponent at 7:00 p.m.
