Baseball Closes Weekend With Win at Sacred Heart
The Central Connecticut baseball team bounced back with a 6-4 win at Sacred Heart on Sunday in Bridgeport, CT. The Blue Devils used a four-run seventh inning to erase a one-run deficit and close the weekend series on a high note.
The Blue Devils finish the regular season at home with a three-game series against Delaware State. The first game is on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils got on the scoreboard with two outs in the second inning. Michael Torniero got it started, drawing a walk. Aidan Redahan followed with a homerun to right field to make it 2-0.
- The Pioneers would do their damage in the fourth and fifth innings to take a one-run lead. In the fourth inning, SHU put runners on second and third with one out and Michael Hernandez doubled to left field to drive in two runs. The Pioneers went ahead in the next inning when Dante D'Amore hit a leadoff homerun to make it 3-2.
- Central would charge back with a four-run seventh inning. Hunter Pasqualini took advantage of a pair of errors to get to second base and with two outs, Brady Short would single up the middle to drive in the tying run. Gianno MerLonghi followed with a single to bring Short around from second to make it 4-3. CCSU would pad its lead with an RBI-single by Dan Hussey and a double from Jeff Nicol to make it 6-3.
- Hernandez had an RBI-single in the eighth inning to make it 6-4, but Wyatt Cameron came on to retire the final four outs for CCSU.
NOTES
- CCSU leads the all-time series, 61-45.
- Hussey was 2-for-3 at the plate with a run and an RBI.
- Redahan hit his fifth homerun of the season and drove in two runs.
- Patrick Reilly pitched 3.2 innings in relief and allowed one run on one hit.
