Baseball Stopped by VCU at Central Virginia Classic on Saturday
The Central Connecticut baseball team lost at VCU, 10-0, on Saturday at The Diamond in Richmond, VA at the Central Virginia Classic. The Blue Devils bats were held to just four hits by the Rams, who collected nine hits of their own.
The Blue Devils face Richmond on Sunday to round out play in the Central Virginia Classic.

KEY MOMENTS
- VCU opened the scoring in the first, taking advantage of a leadoff walk. A wild pitch, coupled with a ground out and a fielding error allowed a run to come across.
- The Blue Devils would put runners in scoring position in each of the first four innings, but were unable to get on the board. The Rams broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth with five runs. A three run double by Brandon Eike along with a pair of sac flies accounted for the runs.
- The Rams would tack on three runs in the fifth and another in the eighth, while the Blue Devils mustered just one hit over the final four innings.
NOTES
- The teams were meeting for the first time.
- Brady Short and Derek Haughey each had a double for CCSU, while Hunter Pasqualini and Michael Torniero each singled.
- Anthony Mozzicato started for CCSU and was charged with two earned runs in 3.1 innings of work.
