
Baseball Rallies to Win in the 10th Over Le Moyne
The Central Connecticut baseball team rallied for a 3-2 win in 10 innings against Le Moyne on Friday in Northeast Conference action at CCSU Baseball Field. The Blue Devils would score once in the bottom of the ninth and then twice in the 10th for the win, while Jake Neuman tossed nine innings of one-run ball, but did not figure in the decision.
The series continues on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.

KEY MOMENTS
- Neuman would allow just three hits through the first five innings, but he was matched by Le Moyne's Jacob Crystal. The Dolphins would open the top of the sixth inning with a leadoff double by Jason Boule. He scored on the next at bat when Zach Brush singled into right field to make it 1-0. Brush would move to second on a sacrifice and then to third on a fly ball, but Neuman got an inning-ending groundball to work out of the jam.
- Brady Short hit a single back at the mound to lead off the bottom of the ninth for CCSU. He moved to second on a sacrifice and then to third on a groundout to the right side. Short would come home to tie the game on a wild pitch and send the game to extra-innings.
- In extra innings, Brady Fureno led off with a single for Le Moyne. Wyatt Patchett followed with a double into the corner in left field that scored the runner from first and made it 2-1. Sam Hutchinson would strike out the only batter he faced to end the inning.
- Aidan Redahan led off the bottom of the 10th inning with a single through the middle. After a sacrifice moved him to second, Joe Rios would drive him in with a pinch-hit into left field. An intentional walk and a single would load the bases. Jeff Nicol would come to bat with two outs and worked a full-count before drawing a walk to force in the game-winning run.
NOTES
- CCSU and Le Moyne are meeting for the first time as Division I opponents.
- Neuman tossed 9.0 innings and scattered six hits. He would allow just one run, while striking out five.
- Central managed eight singles in the game, with Short going 3-for-4 at the plate.
- Crystal tossed 9.0 innings for Le Moyne and allowed one run. He struck out four and walked two.
