
Baseball Drops Series Finale to Stonehill on Saturday
The Central Connecticut baseball team fell to Stonehill, 6-2, on Saturday in the finale of a Northeast Conference series in New Britain, CT. The Skyhawks swept the series that was played at CCSU Baseball Field due to unplayable field conditions at Stonehill.
The Blue Devils play at UConn on Monday in a 3:00 p.m. contest.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central opened the scoring in the top of the first. Colby Brouillette hit a two-out double and scored on a single by Jeff Nicol to make it 1-0.
- Stonehill would take the lead, scoring in the third and fourth innings. A two-out infield single by Sam Parks in the third drove in a run and made it 1-1. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Taylor Gaspar hit a two-run homerun to push the Skyhawks lead to 3-1.
- With two outs in the fifth inning, Michael Torniero reached base on a bunt single and then stole second. Two batters later, Brady Short singled to make it a 3-2 game.
- Stonehill would tack on runs in the sixth and seventh innings to close out the scoring. The Skyhawks loaded the bases in the sixth and Ryan LeClair singled to drive in a run, making it 4-2. Trey Ciulla-Hall led off the seventh with a solo homerun and Jack Thorbahn would score with two outs make it 6-2.
- Peter Haas tossed a complete game for Stonehill and allowed just two hits after the fifth inning.
NOTES
- Stonehill has won four straight matchups in the series.
- Brouillette and Nicol each had two hits for the CCSU lineup.
- Drew Munn started for Central and tossed 5.1 innings. He struck out four hitters.
