Baseball Falters at Fairfield in Midweek Action
The Central Connecticut baseball team lost at Fairfield, 18-2, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Cook Field. The Blue Devils notched a run in the top of the first inning before the Stags offense connected for five homeruns.
The Blue Devils host UMES for a three-game Northeast Conference series beginning Friday.

KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU took a lead with a run in the top of the first. With two outs, Colby Brouillette singled and advanced following a walk Hunter Pasqualini singled to center field to drive in Brouillette and make it 1-0.
- Fairfield would break the game open with a six-run inning in the first. Matt Bucciero doubled in two runs and Nick Sturino hit a three-run homerun to highlight the frame.
- The Stags added to their lead with four homeruns across the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Sturino added a two-run single as part of a six-run fifth inning and Bucciero would add a solo homerun in the sixth.
- Joe Rios led off the eighth with a single for Central. He moved to second following a walk and would score on Pasqualini's second RBI-single of the game.
NOTES
- CCSU leads the all-time series, 29-23-1
- Pasqualini had three hits and drove in both of CCSU's runs. He added a double.
- TJ Wainwright made his first appearance of the season, tossing one inning for the Blue Devils.
