Dunlap Earns Fourth Molten/NEC Defensive Honor
Junior Rachel Dunlap has been the NEC's top blocker this season.
Central Connecticut volleyball junior Rachel Dunlapwas named Molten/Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Dunlap earned the award with her performance in CCSU's three set victory over Bryant on Saturday.
Dunlap contributed to six blocks against the Bulldogs to earn her second consecutive defensive player of the week award and league-best fourth of the season.
Dunlap averaged 2.0 blocks per set, in an errorless performance at the net. She was also errorless on offense where she produced six kills on eight attacks for a .750 hitting percentage.
Heading into the weekend, Dunlap ranked seventh in Division I with 1.47 blocks per set. She is the NEC's leading blocker this season.
Dunlap and the Blue Devils (14-7, 5-2 NEC) will return to action this weekend at Saint Francis U and Robert Morris. CCSU is currently riding a five match winning streak and a stretch of 12 victories in 14 contests.
