Men's Golf Fifth at Yale on Saturday
Monte Mullen ties for 14th with two round total of 149
Junior Monte Mullen shot a two-round total of 149 to tie for 14th place overall as the Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Yale Spring Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devils shot a round one score of 311 and then rebounded for a 302 in the second round on Saturday afternoon.
The tournament was played on the par-70, 6,734-yard Yale Golf Course in New Haven.
Mullen shot 79 in the first round and then a 70 in the second round for his 149 total. His 70 in the second round was the third-lowest score in the round. He two-round total was good for +9.
Senior Matthew DeJohn shot 81-72 to finish at 153 for the two round tournament. He was tied for 24th place at +13. Freshman Matt Hills shot 79-79 (158) and a tie for 40th place overall, while classmate Nick Direda went 78-81 for a two round score of 159 and a tie for 43rd. Freshman Bryant Bolden shot 75-88 to finish at 163 and a tie for 55th place overall.
