Men's Golf Finishes 11th at VCU Shootout
DeJohn's 74 leads CCSU on day tow
Senior Matthew DeJohn shot a round three score of 74 to finish in a tie for 49th place overall as the Central Connecticut men's golf team posted an 11th place finish at the VCU Shootout on Tuesday. Central shot a day three score of 313 in the tournament.
The tournament was played at the Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, VA. Virginia Tech won the tournament, followed by Iowa State, Radford, Richmond and Old Dominion.
DeJohn finished with a three round score of 227, in a tie for 49th place, after his 74 on Tuesday. Junior Monte Mullen shot an 80 in the final round and finished at 230, good for a tie for 55th place.
Freshman Matt Hills shot an 81 in the final round, giving him a total of 233, good for a tie for 59th place. Freshman Nick Direda posted a 78 and and finished tied for 65th (236) while sophomore Connor Murphy shot an 82 and tied for 76th place.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Jack Ayers shot a final day score of 81, finishing with a score of 237, in a tie for 67th place.
The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend at the Yale Madonald Cup played at the Yale Golf Course in New Haven, CT.
