Men's Golf Completes Second Round at Yale
Blue Devils tied for 10th place after first two round
The Central Connecticut men's golf team completed the second round of The Macdonald Cup held at Yale University on Sunday morning. The Blue Devils were one of two teams to complete the second round on Sunday after failing to finish during Saturday's first day.
The Blue Devils shot a round one 296 and a second round 288 and sit in a tie for 10th place with Fordham University. The Blue Devils are +24 as a squad.
Illinois leads the pack at 539 (-21), followed by Yale (550), St. Edward's University (560), URI (571) and Dartmouth (572). Central's team score of 584 is just 10 shots back of sixth place, and 13 back of fourth.
Junior Monte Mullen shot a solid 71-71 over the first two rounds, and is tied for 20th place at +2 on the par-70 Yale Golf Course. Senior Matthew DeJohn shot 75-72 and sits in a tie for 40th place at +7. Freshman Matt Hills (73-75) is in a tie for 48th place, while classmate Bryant Bolden (78-70) improved eight strokes in his second round to also sit in the tie for 48th. Sophomore Jack Ayers (77-77) sits in 65th place and is +14.
The third and final round is being played on Sunday.
