Mullen and Bolden named to NEIGA team
Junior Monte Mullen and freshman Bryant Bolden were both named to the NEIGA All-New England team following their performance at the NEIGA Championships earlier this fall. The pair helped lead the Blue Devils to the New England title at The Captains Course at the end of October.
Mullen won the individual medalist honor and won it on the second playoff hole, topping URI's Joseph Leavitt. Both players finish the two-day tournament with a -1 score of 143.
Mullen shot 73 on the second day of the event after shooting a -2, 70 on the first day. Bolden finished in a tie for eighth place after shooting 72-78 to finish at +6.
Mullen was also named the NEC Golfer of the Month for October. His -1 score in the NEIGA Championship led the Blue Devils to the team championship, besting 37 other teams in the process. Mullen's stroke average of 72.2 over the three tournaments this past month led the Blue Devils. He finished in 1st, 12th and 14th place overall and paced the Blue Devils in each of the three events.
