Women's Track & Field Earns USTFCCA Team Academic Award
The Blue Devils won the program's first NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championship this season.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team was recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their academic performance during the 2018-19 school year with the All-Academic Team Award it was announced.

The Blue Devils, who had over 20 individuals earn Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll selections during the year, recorded a 3.08 team GPA during the indoor and outdoor seasons. CCSU won the program's first Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship on its home track this spring, claiming the tile by just half a point. Central also earned a fifth-place finish as a team at the indoor championships, while the cross country team won the league crown in the fall.
In order to selected as an All-Academic Team a team must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA. In total, 366 NCAA Division I programs were honored for their academic performance, including 227 women's teams.
