Track and Field Heads Back to Boston For David Hemery Valentine Invite
The Blue Devils compete at the NEC Championship on Feb. 15-16.
The Central Connecticut men's and women's track & field teams will travel back to Boston University for the fourth time this season to compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday inside the BU Track and Tennis Center.
The women's competition will start on Friday with running events at 12 p.m. and the men will wait until Saturday to compete, beginning with field events at 10:30 a.m.
The Blue Devils will see a very large and highly talented competition field made up of 3,500 athletes representing of 90 teams including hundreds of post-collegiate athletes. Click here for a full list of accepted entries.

LAST WEEK HIGHLIGHTS
Senior Sierra Nesmith broke the school record for the women's triple jump with a leap of 11.81 meters crushing her previous best of 11.73 meters and the previous record of 11.75 meters. She also took home the bronze medal in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.47. Junior Megan Brawner earned a third-place finish in the 1,000-meter run crossing the finish line at 2:56.25.
On the men's side, junior Robero Piotto was crowned the 2018 New England 5,000 meter champion after completing the event with a time of 14:41.50 at the New England Championships. Classmate Richard Grudzwick earned the bronze medal in the 800-meter dash completing the event in an impressive 1:53.19.
The Blue Devils will compete for the 2018 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship next weekend hosted by Wagner inside Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The title meet will begin on Friday, February 15th and will conclude on Saturday, February 16th.
