Women's Track & Field Competes at IC4A/ECAC Championships
Central recently won the 2019 NEC Outdoor Championship for the first time in school history.
The Central Connecticut women's outdoor track and field team had four representatives compete at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at William Weaver Stadium in Princeton, NJ.
Following up being named the NEC Most Outstanding Performer for distance at the 2019 NEC Outdoor Championship, senior Dawn Hubbell placed sixth in the 10,000 meter at 37:12.96.
Senior McKenna Kilian competed in the 400 meter hurdles clocking in at 1:07.81 after finishing in sixth in the event at the NEC Championship last weekend.
Senior Sierra Nesmith also competed in the 400 meter hurdles along with the triple jump. She came in sixth place in the 400 meter hurdles and fouled in the triple jump. Last weekend at the conference championships, Nesmith won the silver medal in both events.
NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
Four Blue Devils competed at the 2019 New England Outdoor Championships hosts by Southern Connecticut State University on May 10-1. Junior Taylor Davis finished 17th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.88 seconds. Kilian competed in the long jump recording a height of 5.12 meters.
Freshman Ashley Dana ran the women's 800 meter placing 18th crossing the finish line at 2:16.27. Sophomore Kaitlyn Stevens competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase finishing with a time of 12:00.87.
