Blue Devils Ready to Compete for 2019 NEC Title
CCSU finished in fifth place at the 2018 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship.
The Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team will compete for the 2019 Northeast Conference title on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16 inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The women's championship track events begin on Friday with the 60 meter hurdles preliminary round at 9:00 a.m and will conclude at 1:40 p.m. after the 3,000 meter run finals.

NEC T&F CHAMPIONSHIP HEADQUARTERS
Last year, CCSU earned six medals and took fifth place in 2018 Northeast Conference Championships with a total of 65 points. Seinor McKenna Kilian won the NEC long jump title, marking the first time a Blue Devil has won the event in program history.
Senior Dawn Hubbell earned a silver medal in the women's 5,000 meter run with a personal best time of 17:27.62. Junior Hailey Rospierski earned a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump. Senior Sierra Nesmith earned a bronze medal as well with a 11.73 meter leap in the triple jump.
The women's DMR team consisting of sophomore Angie Rafter, Nesmith, Kilian, and junior Megan Brawner earned a silver medal with a season best timeof 12:17.86.
Following the NEC title meet, women's track and field will compete at the BU Last Chance on Sunday, Feb. 24 in Boston, MA.
