Swimming Opens CSCAA NIC Competition
The squads 200 freestyle relay moved up 13 spots from its seeding to place 38th
The Central Connecticut swim team opened competition at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, a three-day competition in Elkhart, IN.
Shannon Welcome and Abbey Keane both swam in the preliminary heats of the 500 freestyle and finished 44th and 46th. Welcome touched at 4:59.38, while Keane went 4:59.54.
Cassidy Stotler swam the 50 breaststroke, in a time of 29.51, and was 47th in the field.
The Blue Devils 200 freestyle relays swam a time of 1:35.21 and finished 38th, 13 spots in front of its seeding. Kelly Stotler led off the relay with a 24.04, followed by Katie Czulewicz at 23.58. Gabby Spaciano swam 23.88 on the third leg and Cassidy Stotler's anchor leg split was 23.71.
Taylor DeMarest and Gabby Spaciano both time trialed the 500 freestyle on Thursday. DeMarest touched at 5:08.12 and Spaciano swam a 5:12.84.
