Swimming & Diving Wins 10 Events In Dual Meet Victory At Stony Brook
Katie Czulewicz won two individual races and two relays
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team defeated host Stony Brook 162-138 in dual meet action Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils won 10 of the 16 events competed, with Katie Czulewicz winning four times on the afternoon.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Megan Dunningan, Ella Discala, Cassidy Stoler and Katie Czulewicz opened the meet with a win in the 400-medley relay, touching at 3:56.67; 1.7 seconds in front of the Stony Brook squad
- Abbey Keane steadily pulled away from the field on her way to a win in the 1,000 with a final time of 10:44.61
- Czulewicz earned individual wins in the 200 (1:56.88) and 500 (5:10.95) freestyles, posting the top time in the league in the 500
- Discala won both individual breaststroke events, finishing the 100 in a time of 1:06.86, and the 200 in 2:25.90 – both of which are among the top-five times thus far in the NEC
- Elyse Boothroyd placed second on the low board, with a score of 226.27 and Jewelle Maziarz placed second on the 3-meter with 222.97 points
- Cassidy Stotler touched first in the 200 IM at 2:10.32, tops in the league this season
- Kelly Stotler, Czulewicz, Gabby Spaciano and Shannon Welcome combined for a win the 400-freestyle relay, winning by 11 seconds, with a time of 3:37.54
