Swimming Earns Three Individual Wins On Second Day of Fairfield Invitational
Cassidy Stotler won twice, while Gabi Wroblewski earned one victory
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team completed its two-day opening weekend performance at the Fairfield Invitational. The Blue Devils earned three individual victories on Saturday, paced by two wins from Cassidy Stotler.
The Blue Devils are next in action on October 22 when they host NEC newcomers Stonehill at Sudyam Natatorium.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Cassidy Stotler won the 100-breaststroke, with a swim of 1:15.63 and earned a win in the 100 butterfly, at 1:06.01
- Gabi Wroblewski earned the win in the 200-butterfly, with a time of 2:26.60, pacing four Blue Devils in the top-12 of the event
- Cassidy Stotler, 2:27.80, and Wrobleski, 2:28.26 finished second and third in the 200 IM
- The Blue Devils 'A' relay placed second in the 200-meter medley relay, touching at 2:01.8, and the 400 free relay finished third at 4:06.23
- Kaylin McMahon touched fifth in the 800 free with a 10:00.04
- Three CCSU swimmers were in the top-seven finishers in the 200-freestyle, paced by Megan Dunningan's fourth-place finish at 2:12:00
- Kelly Stotler finished third at 1:00.77 in the 100 free, and fifth in the 50 free (28.09)
- Dunnigan was also the Blue Devils top swimmer in the 200 back, at 2:24.24
- Morgan O'Hara, 2:47.62, and Ella Discalla, 2:50.27, finished fourth and fifth in the 200 breaststroke
- Kelly Stotler touched at 1:08.54, good for sixth place, in the 100 backstroke
- Abbey Keane placed third in the 400-freestyle, at 4:42.06
