The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team completed its two-day dual meet with Northeast Conference foe Sacred Heart, Saturday afternoon in Milford, CT. The Blue Devils set three pool records on their way to a 248-105 dual meet win.
The Blue Devils are at UConn Friday evening at 6:00pm, before hosting Rhode Island on Saturday, January 28 at 2:00pm. The meet versus URI will be Senior Day for CCSU.
- The Blue Devils opened Saturday with a win in the 200-medley relay, as Kelly Stotler, Cassidy Stotler, Megan Dunnigan and Gabby Spaciano touched at 1:49.98
- The CCSU B relay of Nathalie Pena, Morgan O'Hara, Kyla Behrle and Jillena Plowucha finished third in a time of 1:56.39
- Gabi Wroblewski, 4:38.97, out touched teammate Morgan O'Hara, 4:39.41, as the Blue Devils took the top-two spots in the 400 IM and were both under the McCann Natatorium record of 4:41.33
- Kaylin McMahon placed fourth at 4:49.60 and Behrle had the fifth fastest time at 4:50.48
- Katie Czulewicz earned her third individual win of the meet in the 100 freestyle, swimming 53.69, as CCSU secured the four fastest times in the event
- Shannon Welcome was second in the 100 free, 54.19, followed by Spaciano, 54.64 and Kelly Stotler, 54.75
- Dunnigan, 2:08.80, captured the 200 backstroke, with Pena placing second at 2:11.14
- Jewelle Maziarz, 244.43, and Zoe Baker, 22.58, took the top two spots in the 1-meter diving
- Cassidy Stotler captured the 100 butterfly, with a swim of 58.78, while Dunnigan placed second at 1:00.67
- Czulewicz earned her fourth individual win by leading a 1-2-3 sweep of the 500 freestyle, swimming a 5:07.34, lowering the pool record by nearly a full second
- Welcome was second in the 500 with a 5:13.25, while Abbey Keane touched third at 5:13.25
- O'Hara earned the top spot in the 200 breaststroke, with a swim of 2:28.89
- Czulewicz, Welcome, Kelly Stotler and Spaciano combined to win the 400 freestyle relay, capping off the meet, with a swim of 3:37.68, to set a pool record
- The relay of Cassidy Stotler, Wroblewski, Keane and McMahon placed third at 3:48.11
