Men's Track & Field Completes IC4As

The Central Connecticut men's track and field team competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championships May 10-12 in Princeton, NJ. The Blue Devils were led by senior Aaron Radden, who placed fifth in the 200m dash finals on Sunday with his time of 21.16 seconds.
In addition to the IC4A/ECAC competition, Central sent one team member, freshman Joseph Gioielli, to the New Balance Boston Twilight Series. Gioielli paced the competition and claimed the win in the 800m run with a new personal career-best time of 1:50.56. His time in the event also breaks his own CCSU record of 1:51.33 set on April 17 at the Larry Ellis Invitational.

On Friday at the IC4A/ECACs, the Blue Devils began competition with the 10,000 meter run. Senior John Krell placed 22nd in the race with his time of 31:55.84.
Sophomore Jamal Fruster competed in the 400m dash on Saturday, crossing the finish line in 50.83. Senior Nick Lindblom performed well in the 400m hurdle event, finishing in a season-best time of 53.36 for 13th out of 32 competitors.
The Blue Devils also fielded a 4x100m relay team that placed 15th with a time of 53.36. The team consisted of Fruster, Radden, junior Chris Savvidou and freshman Kendall Walker.
On Sunday, senior Rashad Williams closed out the competition with a ninth-place performance out of 36 competitors in the shot put event. Williams registered a distance of 16.60 meters.
The Blue Devils will return to action on May 23-25 at the NCAA Championships-East Preliminaries in Greensboro, NC.
