Radden Named USTFCCCA DI All-Academic
Senior Aaron Radden earns the honor after completing an outstanding career for the Blue Devils.
Senior Aaron Radden of the Central Connecticut track and field team was named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I All-Academic team, the USTFCCCA announced Thursday. Radden, who holds several CCSU records, adds this prestigious honor to an impressive list of accolades collected throughout his campaign with the Blue Devils.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.
Radden completes his outstanding career accumulating numerous awards both for his performances in the classroom as well as on the track. He is a five-time indoor NEC Individual Champion, a four-time outdoor NEC Individual Champion, a four-time New England Indoor Champion and a two-time NEC Indoor Championships Most Outstanding Performer and Most Valuable Performer. He has tallied eight NEC weekly awards and received the 2013 NEC Outdoor Most Outstanding Performer award. Radden also holds seven records in the CCSU record book.
