Six Blue Devils Named NEC All-Conference
CCSU continues competition at the New England Indoor Championships Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23.
Six Blue Devils from the Central Connecticut men's track and field team took seven spots on the 2013 NEC Indoor Men's All-Conference team. CCSU earned three spots on the first team, three second team and also boasted one all-rookie awardee.

The Blue Devils placed third at the Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 10 and junior Craig Hunt was awarded the Most Outstanding Track Performer of the meet.
Hunt, who took first in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meter races with times of 8:31.83 and 14:54.75, respectively was named to the All-Conference First Team for both performances. Also notching first team honors was Central's distance medley relay team made up of sophomores Joey Farrington and Brian Biekert as well as freshmen Malcolm Connor and Joseph Gioielli. The team crossed the finish line in 10:15.75.
Gioielli was also named to the All-Rookie team for his performance in the 800 meter run which he finished in 1:53.06 for third place overall.
Gioielli's DMR teammate, Biekert, also earned his own individual spot on the NEC Indoor All-Conference Second Team for his second-place finish in the one mile run with a time of 4:19.16.
Also earning second-team honors was senior Aaron Radden, who took two spots for his performances in the 60 and 200 meter dash events. Radden placed second in both races with times of 6.89 and 21.71, respectively.
The Blue Devils continue competition on Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at the New England Indoor Championships at Boston University in Boston, MA.
