Radden Competes in IC4A/ECAC Finals
Senior Aaron Radden placed fifth in the 60m and sixth overall in the 200m.
After three days of competition at the 2013 IC4A/ECAC Championships in Boston, MA, Central Connecticut senior Aaron Radden closed out the competition by competing in the finals in both of his sprinting events on Sunday.
Radden, who was the only Blue Devil to race on Sunday, ran a 6.84 in the 60 meter dash semi-finals and followed it up with a time of 6.82 in the finals race. He finished in fifth place overall in the event.
In the 200 meter dash, Radden earned fourth place in his finals heat with a time of 21.22. Overall, he earned sixth place in the event.
Seven CCSU student-athletes qualified for the championships throughout the men's indoor track and field season and they each competed on Saturday.
Sophomore Jamal Fruster was the only other Blue Devil to compete in two events. He placed 26th in preliminary competition in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.71. He was also a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that broke the CCSU record with a time of 3:17.15. The team, consisting of Fruster, seniors Dan Hopper and Nick Lindblom, as well as junior Ryan Budd, ousted the previous record of 3:18.00 set in 2001.
Sophomore Brian Biekert ran a 4:09.74 for 17th place in the prelims in the one mile event while freshman Malcolm Connor placed 24th in the 500 meter dash preliminaries with a time of 1:05.27.

The next event on the schedule for the Blue Devils is the NCAA Indoor Championships March 8-9 in Fayetteville, AR. After that, Central gears up for the start of the outdoor season with a meet against Stanford on March 29-30 in Palo Alto, CA.
