Central has now won five-straight NEC contests and has taken sole possesion of first place in the NEC standings.
The Blue Devils defeated the Blackbirds earlier this season, 75-70, in Detrick Gymnasium on Jan. 19. Central stormed back after being down by as many as 12 points in the second half for the victory. Central used a solid shooting performance and key free-throw shooting in the final minute of the game to comeback for the win in the second half.
Senior Amanda Harrington posted her second straight double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to help lead the Blue Devils to the win. Junior TeJahne Malone contributed a team-high 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 7-of-9 from the line and she also added five boards for CCSU.
LIU was paced by Sophie Bhasin in the game who finished with a game-high 33 points, including 21 before halftime.
The Blue Devils enter the Steinberg Wellness Center on Monday night looking for a season sweep of the Blackbirds and are on a five-game winning streak as they are off to the best start to league play in program history.
