The victory also gives the Blue Devils an undefeated, 9-0, mark at home against NEC competition, defeating every NEC school that entered Detrick Gym this year in the regular season.
With the victory, the Blue Devils remain in a tie for first place in the Northeast Conference standings, but now with just the Bryant Bulldogs at 13-3. The 13 wins in NEC play also marks the most conference wins in program history for the Blue Devils.

SFU jumped out to an early 12 point lead, 24-12, with 8:50 remaining before the intermission. The lead would be the largest of the half for the Red Flash as the Blue Devils used a quick 9-0 run over the next two and a half minutes to cut the lead to just three, 24-21 with 5:33 to play in the half.
