Goldman Named Diver of the Meet; Trueworthy Diving Coach of the Year
CCSU swimming and diving wraps up the NEC Championships in fourth place.
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2013 Northeast Conference Championships Saturday night in fourth place. Diving Coach Michael Trueworthy was named 2013 NEC Diving Coach of the Year and freshman Jessica Goldman won the 3-meter dive event. Goldman swept both diving events and was named Diver of the Meet.

In addition to placing first in the 3-meter with her score of 254.40, Goldman broke the previous NEC six-dive record of 248.40 set in 2011. Goldman was followed by Wagner's Mallory Lee in second place and CCSU sophomore Kate Dwyer took the bronze with a score of 205.80. Freshman Shawna Herter placed fifth in the event, totaling 192.50.
Central took home a pair of bronze medals in the 1,650 yard freestyle and in the 200 yard backstroke. In the 1,600 free, junior Kasey Chilton finished behind a pair from Saint Francis (PA) with a time of 17:19.09. In the 200 backstroke, senior Allison Rasile claimed third with a time of 2:02.95 behind a duo from Bryant.
