CCSU vs Sacred Heart Ends in 1-1 Draw

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team drew a tie on another goal from senior captain Giavanna Inzerillo.

Key moments:

• Central Connecticut found themselves trailing 1-0 just 15 minutes into the match. Sacred Heart's Morgan Bovardi stole the ball from a CCSU defender and scored with a shot that narrowly eluded diving goalkeeper Melina Ford
• Giavanna Inzerillo came through with a crucial goal in the 53rd minute when she converted Abbie Burgess' corner kick and secured a 1-1 tie for her team.
• Aoife Horgan made an impressive move past a Pioneer defender and took a powerful right-footed shot, but the Pioneer defense blocked and saved it with 15 minutes remaining.
• In the final 10 minutes, Inzerillo came close to scoring her 15th goal but narrowly missed inches wide of the bottom left corner of the net.
• In the 85th minute, Sacred Heart had a great chance to score when Desiree Crawford took a shot, but freshman goalkeeper Melina Ford made a key save to keep the score tied.

• Melina Ford got the nod as the keeper today with 6 games started as a freshman this season. She continued her solid play with seven saves tonight.
