Central Connecticut trailed 1-0 before Giavanna Inzerillo scored her 5th goal of the season to tie the game at one goal apiece. The Blue Devils could not mount the comeback after St. Johns scored the game-winner in the 81st minute.

- St. John's Isabelle Aviza scored the opening goal in the 49th minute of a cross and a touch pass from her teammates to give the Red Storm a 1-0 advantage.
- With 32 minutes left to play Inzerillo sent a pass to teammate Aoife Horgan on the left side of the box for a shot that would have been a goal, but instead hit the crossbar. The shot was corraled by Horgan who sent a shot that was deflected by a St. John defender who was ultimately called for a handball in the box.
- The Blue Devils were awarded a penalty kick in the 57th minute that was taken and scored by senior forward Giavanna Inzerillo. The Blue Devil captain tallied her 5th goal of the season to tie the game at one goal apiece.
- The Red Storm took the lead back late in the second half when Jordyn Levy sent a shot in from the top of the box and scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute.
