
Inzerillo Hat Trick Leads Blue Devils To 5-2 Win At Fairfield
Blue Devils scored four times in 20 minutes in second period to take the victory
Giavanna Inzerillo posted seven points to rally the Central Connecticut women's soccer team to a 5-2 win over Fairfield, Thursday night. She finished with seven points, as CCSU scored four times in a 19-minute stretch in the second-half to earn the win.

KEY MOMENTS
- Fairfield opened the scoring with an individual effort from Maddy Theriault in the 19th minute, as she stepped sideways and slid a ball inside the near post
- Inzerillo brought the Blue Devils level 30 minutes into the contest, when Abbey Burgess put a corner kick to the near post and Inzerillo headed it home
- The Stags went back in front with a tally from Sam Kersey in the final minutes of the first-half
- Inzerillo threaded a pass from midfield through two defenders to just outside the box and the foot of Aoife Horgan, who touched the ball past the Stags keeper, shed a defender to score the equalizer
- Inzerillo put the Blue Devils on top with 17:07 to play, intercepting a back pass and sliding her shot along the goal line and into the back of the net
- She completed the hat trick 35 seconds later with a knock from 35 yards out into the side netting for a 4-2 lead
- Sabrina Krause closed out the scoring, mirroring Inzerillo's third tally, from the opposite side of the field with 11:22 remaining

- Melina Ford made a save in both halves for CCSU, including a stop keeping the game level moments before Inzerillo's go-ahead tally
- Both teams were credited with 14 shots, with the Blue Devils holding a 9-4 edge in shots on goal
