Jordan Jones of the Central Connecticut men's basketball team was named All-ECAC Second Team on Thursday. The honor is the latest for Jones, who became the program's sixth Northeast Conference Player of the Year this season.
Jones became program's sixth player named NEC Player of the Year and its first since Ken Horton in 2010-11. He was also named a finalist for the Lou Henson Player of the Year earlier this season. In his second season at CCSU, Jones became a two-time All-NEC performer earning a spot on the First Team. He was named Player of the Week three times, while averaging 14.3 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds. He was among the league's statistical top-10 in seven categories, while leading CCSU in scoring in 13 games. He opened the season with 21 points at Providence, which was the first of his six 20-point games during the season. In conference play, Jones was even better, averaging 16.3 points, 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds, while shooting 54 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from beyond the arc.
