
Men's Basketball Makes it Eight Straight, Downs Saint Francis U 83-67
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team downed Saint Francis U., 83-67, to push its win streak to eight games in Northeast Conference action on Saturday in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils used a 27-0 run spanning both halves to erase an 11-point deficit and eventually pull away for the win.
Jordan Jones paced the CCSU offense with 24 points and seven assists against just one turnover. Devin Haid added 21 points and seven rebounds, while Jayden Brown finished with 13 points and nine boards. Central shot 32-of-60 (.533) overall and was 7-of-16 (.438) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 12-of-13 (.923) at the foul line.
Valentino Pinedo led Saint Francis with 15 points. SFU shot 29-of-61 (.475) overall and 8-of-25 (.320) on three-pointers. The Red Flash were 1-of-2 (.500) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- Abdul Momoh started the game shooting 3-of-3 from the field, while the rest of the Blue Devils were 0-of-7. The Red Flash took advantage, building a 16-6 lead and forcing a CCSU timeout just over five minutes into the game.
- The Blue Devils trailed by as much as 24-13, but after beginning the game by shooting just 3-of-10 from the field, they would make 10-of-16 shots at one point. Central would close the period on a 7-0 run and, after consecutive tip-ins by Jayden Brown and Devin Haid, would get within 41-38 at the intermission.
- Five straight points by Jordan Jones and a triple by Brown to open the second period gave Central its first lead since 2-0. The Blue Devils would extend their run to 27-0 spanning both halves and a jumper by Haid and two foul shots by Jones pushed the lead to double-figures. Saint Francis would endure a nearly eight-minute scoring drought, while CCSU would build a 15-point lead.
- SFU would score four straight points with 6:49 to play to cut the Central lead to 65-56. The Blue Devils would outscore the Red Flash, 18-7, the rest of the way and would push its lead to as much as 81-61.

- CCSU has won eight straight games for the first time since Jan. 13-Feb. 15, 2007 when it won 12 in a row.
- Jones shot 9-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the arc.
- Haid hit 6-of-6 from the foul line and added two steals.
- The game marked the second time this season that CCSU had two players score 20+ points.
- Brown shot 6-of-11 and added two assists and a steal.
- Momoh collected a career-high six blocked shots, passing Byron Smith and moving into a tie with Brown for 7th on the CCSU all-time blocked shots list.
- CCSU has won the past five meetings and leads the all-time series, 29-28.
