
Men's Basketball Earns Road Win at FDU Saturday
Central Connecticut led nearly wire-to-wire for a 71-60 Northeast Conference victory over FDU on Saturday in Hackensack, NJ. The Blue Devils shot 50 percent from the floor and had four players in double-figures, while snapping a two-game slide with the win.
Jayden Brown scored a team-high 16 points, while Abdul Momoh had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Jones and Devin Haid added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Central shot 28-of-55 (.509) overall and 6-of-18 (.333) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 9-of-11 (.818) at the foul line.
Ahmed Barba-Bey had a game-high 25 points to lead the Knights. FDIU shot 20-of-63 (.317) overall and 10-of-32 (.313) on three-pointers. FDU was 10-of-14 (.714) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU jumped out to an 8-0 lead, just 2:46 into the game after Joe Ostrowsky and Brown hit back-to-back three-pointers.
- Central held a 14-12 lead midway through the opening period before a six-point spurt in just over a minute built its largest lead of the half. A jumper by Haid with 10:22 to go made it 19-14. Jordan Jones came back with four straight points, and his layup at the 9:16 mark put CCSU ahead, 23-14.
- FDU would take its only lead of the day after back-to-back three-pointers put the Knights ahead 30-29 with 4:22 left in the half. Following a timeout, Darin Smith, Jr. converted a layup at the other end to put Central ahead and open an 8-0 run to close the half. Smith had a layup with 1:06 to go in the half and put CCSU up 37-30 heading into the break.
- Momoh would open the second half with a pair of baskets on the first two possessions and his dunk would give Central a 41-31 lead. The Blue Devils would hold the Knights without a field goal for four minutes and scored six unanswered points to take their largest lead at 52-36 after a jumper by Brown with 14:22 to play.
- Central would maintain a double-digit lead the rest of the way and would not allow FDU to get closer than the final margin after the Knights scored the final four points of the game.
