
Momoh's Double-Double Powers Men's Basketball at Mercyhurst
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team remained unbeaten in Northeast Conference play with a 62-50 at Mercyhurst on Sunday in Erie, PA. Abdul Momoh had a career-high 17 points to go with 10 rebounds to help CCSU overcome a one-point halftime deficit.
Momoh was 8-of-11 from the field and added two locked shots. Jordan Jones added 12 points. Central shot 26-of-58 (.448) overall and 3-of-17 (.176) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 7-of-10 (.700) at the foul line.
Aidan Reichert led the Lakers with 15 points. Mercyhurst shot 19-of-55 (.345) overall and 6-of-23 (.261) on three-pointers. Hurst was 6-of-10 (.600) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- Abdul Momoh opened the game's scoring, but Mercyhurst would respond with five straight points. The team's would trade baskets, which included a layup by Momoh to end the run, before CCSU regained the lead with a Max Frazier layup. The Blue Devils would hold the Lakers scoreless for nearly six minutes and three-point play by Jordan Jones gave CCSU a 15-8 lead.
- CCSU would maintain its lead throughout the opening half until Bernie Blunt hit consecutive trifectas and made it 29-26 at the 1:54 mark and forced a Central timeout. A Momoh layup would get the Blue Devils with 29-28 at halftime.
- The Blue Devils quickly regained the lead out of the break after a trifecta by Devin Haid and a layup by Jordan Jones. The Blue Devils would extend the run to 19-5 and held the Lakers to just one field goal in the opening eight minutes to build a double-digit lead.
- Mercyhurst would score seven unanswered points to get within 49-45 with 6:00 to play. Following a Central foul shot, a three-pointer by Max Jusianiec would make it a 50-48 game with 5:16 left.
- Central would respond with eight straight points, and a putback layup from Momoh would push the lead back to double-digits at 58-48 with 1:43 to play. The Blue Devils would hold Mercyhurst scoreless for 4:45 before a pair of foul shots with 37 seconds to play.
