
Men's Basketball Leads Throughout in Win Over Chicago State
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team led wire-to-wire in an 81-64 Northeast Conference win over Chicago State on Sunday in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils had five players score in double-figures and led by as many as 27 points in the second half.
Devin Haid scored a game-high 17 points, while Jordan Jones added 16. Joe Ostrowsky and Darin Smith, Jr., had 11 apiece, while Abdul Momoh finished with 10 points. Central shot 28-of-63 (.444) overall and 6-of-20 (.300) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 19-of-27 (.704) at the foul line.
Gabe Spinelli had 13 points to lead the Cougars. Chicago State shot 24-of-59 (.407) overall and 9-of-29 (.310) on three-pointers. CSU was 7-of-8 (.875) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- Matthew Robinson would tie the game for CSU at the 11:22 mark before a Jaelen McGlone trifecta opened a 12-0 run. Central would hold Chicago State scoreless for over six minutes and Jordan Jones gave CCSU a 25-13 lead before a Gabe Spinelli three-pointer with 5:06 ended the Cougars' scoring drought.
- The Blue Devils' lead would be trimmed with a 7-0 run to get the Cougars within 25-20. Jordan Jones ended the Central field goal drought with a three-point play with 1:24 left in the period. Central would head into halftime with a 30-22 lead.
- Central scored the first eight points of the second half, including four straight by Abdul Momoh. A pair of foul shots by Jordan Jones would make it 38-22 with 17:00 remaining. The Blue Devils held Chicago State without a field goal for over five minutes of actin until a putback by Dailliss Cox with 15:08 remaining.
- A three-pointer by Joe Ostrowsky extended the lead to 59-32 with 9:51 remaining. Chicago State would get no closer than the final margin as Central would shoot 53 percent from the field in the second half.

- Haid shot 7-of-8 from the field and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. He added four assists and two steals.
- Ostrowsky added four steals and two assists.

- The all-time series is tied 4-4 as the teams were meeting for the first tim in NEC play.
