Men's Basketball Surges Past Hartford on Wednesday
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team surged past Hartford, 82-73, on Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup at Chase Arena in West Hartford, CT. The Blue Devils held the Hawks for over seven minutes during a pivotal stretch in the second half to take control of the game.

Five Blue Devils scored in double figures, led by Kellen Amos and Andre Snoddy who had 20 and 18 points, respectively. Joe Ostrowsky added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds off the bench. CCSU shot 30-of-53 (.566) from the field overall and 5-of-11 (.455) from three-point range. Central was 17-of-22 (.773) from the foul line.
Michael Dunne scored a game-high 24 points to lead Hartford. The Hawks shot 26-of-54 (.481) overall and 14-of-29 (.483) from the arc. Hartford was 7-of-7 (1.000) from the foul line.
The Blue Devils travel to FDU on Saturday for a 5:00 p.m. game on ESPN+.

"We really executed well on the offensive end in the second half," said head coach Patrick Sellers. "We had a tough time guarding Hartford tonight [in the 1st half], particularly Brennan. Andre Snoddy did an excellent job on Brennan for us in the second half."
KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU held a 12-11 lead following a foul shot by Abdul Momoh at 13:35 in the first half. The Hawks would score seven straight to build a six-point lead for its largest cushion of the period.
- The Blue Devils would draw even after a dunk by Amos before a three-pointer by Ostrowsky would highlight a run to push the CCSU lead to four points with 6:16 to go in the half. The contest would go back-and-forth before the Hawks closed the period with a dunk to tie the score and a three-pointer to go ahead 36-33 at halftime.
- The game would remain a one-possession contest until Dunne hit a three-pointer with 13:50 remaining to give the Hawks a 52-48 lead. UHart would maintain a 57-54 edge with 10:26 to play before CCSU took control of the game.
- Consecutive layups by Snoddy would open a run of 15 unanswered points for CCSU and make it 58-57. The Hawks would shoot 0-for-5 and commit four turnovers during the Blue Devils run. Snoddy had eight points in the spurt and his layup with 4:43 to play made it 69-57.
- The Hawks were unable to get closer than 72-66 with 1:29 remaining as the Blue Devils made 11 straight foul shots to close the game and seal the result.
