OPENING NOTES
• Central Connecticut travels to face Manhattan on Friday night. The teams are meeting for the first time and the contest is rescheduled from the postponed meeting on Nov. 11, 2022.
• Patrick Sellers is in his 2nd season at the helm of CCSU and returns 3 starters & 8 letterwinners.
• The Blue Devils will return home to host Army West Point on Tuesday.
WHAT TO KNOW
• Jay Rodgers has started the past two games, posting his first double-digit scoring games of the year. He had a career-high 23 points at Fordham, making 5-of-10 three-pointers. He entered the game with just five three-pointers on the season.
• Nigel Scantlebury had a double-double (the 1st of his career) in the win over Dartmouth. He matched a personal-best with 10 rebounds. He was a Preseason All-NEC pick.
• Kellen Amos has scored double figures in 9 games and ranks 10th in the NEC in scoring (13.1). He ranks among the top-15 in 5 statistical categories in the NEC, including an NEC-high 14 dunks.
• CCSU has posted a +10 turnover margin in the past two contests.
• Central scored a season-best 44 points and shot 58.6% in the second half at Fordham.
• In the previous 5 games, CCSU has shot 26-of-110 (.236) from the 3-point arc as a team and has not made more than 7 treys in a game. In the first 6 games of the year, CCSU was leading the NEC with 9.4 three-pointers per game and making .356 of its shots from the arc.
