OPENING NOTES
• Central Connecticut goes to Holy Cross for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff on Saturday as the teams meet for the second consecutive season.
• Patrick Sellers is in his 2nd season at the helm of CCSU and returns 3 starters & 8 letterwinners.
• The CCSU is playing Holy Cross for just 4th time overall. The teams first met during the 1946-47 season, a year in which the Crusaders, led by Bob Cousy, went 27-3 and were NCAA champions.
WHAT TO KNOW
• Nigel Scantlebury, a preseason All-NEC pick, is facing Holy Cross again after posting a then-career best 25 points on 8-10 fg, 3-3 3fg and 6-6 ft shooting last season. It was the first game nationally by a player shoot 80% on 8+ FGM, 100% on 3+ 3FGM and 100% on 6+ FTM last season.
• In the previous two games, CCSU is shooting just 9-of-50 (.180) from the 3-point arc as a team. In the first 6 games of the year, CCSU was leading the NEC with 9.4 three-pointers per game and making .356 of its shots from the arc.
• Kellen Amos has scored double figures in 6 games and ranks 15th in the NEC in scoring (12.4). In total, he ranks among the top-15 in six categories in the Northeast Conference.
• Andre Snoddy, an NEC All-Rookie Team pick last season, leads the team in rebounding and ranks 6th in the NEC. He has 6 career double-doubles, including two this season.
