Men's Basketball Unveils 2022-23 Non-Conference Schedule
Head coach Patrick Sellers and the Central Connecticut men's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2022-23 season on Thursday. CCSU will play 15 contests in preparation for the Northeast Conference portion of the schedule.
"We are looking forward to beginning the season and believe this is a slate of games that will prepare us to compete in the Northeast Conference," said Sellers. "With a mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers we are optimistic about the success that we can achieve this season."
2022-23 CCSU MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
The out of conference schedule includes five home games and opponents from seven conferences, including the America East, Atlantic-10, BIG EAST, Big Ten, Ivy League, MAAC and Patriot League. CCSU will also visit local rival Hartford for a midweek contest in the midst of league play on Wednesday, February 8.
Central will open the season with a pair of road games. The Blue Devils play at UMass on Monday, November 7, in Amherst, MA, before visiting Manhattan on Friday, November 11.
The Blue Devils' home opener will be on Sunday, November 13, against Quinnipiac in a 1:00 p.m. tipoff.
Central will open a stretch of three straight road games with a trip to St. John's on November 15. CCSU will then play in a multi-team event at UMBC on November 19-20. The Blue Devils will play Lafayette on Saturday before facing the host, UMBC, on Sunday.
The Blue Devils will return home against Maine in a pre-Thanksgiving contest on Wednesday, November 23. Following a trip to face Rutgers on Saturday, November 26, Central Connecticut will return to Detrick Gymnasium on Tuesday, November 29, against Brown.
The Blue Devils will begin the final stretch of non-conference games with a trip to Holy Cross on Saturday, December 3. Central will host Dartmouth (December 9) and Army West Point (December 20), while playing road contests at Fordham (December 11) and Saint Joseph's (December 22) before opening league play.
The Northeast Conference announced the 16-game league slate in late August. CCSU will begin league play on Tuesday, December 29, when it travels to Saint Francis U.
Season ticket information for the men's basketball season will be available in October.
