Griebel Leads Women's Track at UCONN
Alasia Griebel broke the 1,500m school record.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field team opened their outdoor season at the UCONN Spring Invitational in Storrs, CT.
Senior distance runner Alasia Griebel broke the CCSU school record in the 1,500m placing second with a time of 4:36.64. Sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt finished sixth in the event with a time of 4:43.52, her personal best.
Sophomore Meghan Burns posted a 1:01.70 time in the 400m placing third. Sophomore Shavonne Dash and senior Kate McGuire finished right behind Burns placing fifth (1:02.37) and sixth (1:02.57) respectively.
Sophomore Krisztina Dearborn ran a personal best 17:39.83 time in the 5,000m placing third. Junior Rachel Dombroski placed sixth in the 200m recording a 26.32 time.
In the field, freshman Erin Howe recorded a 10.98m distance in the triple jump placing fourth. Junior Ahj Meeks placed sixth in the high jump with a height of 1.48m. In the pole vault, sophomore Jess Davis stamped a 2.90m height, good for seventh place.
