Saunders Leads Central at Yale
Freshman Ronea Saunders helped lead the Blue Devils at the Yale Invitational Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field team competed at Yale this weekend in an unscored meet. 15 teams were featured at the Yale Invitational held at Coxe Cage in New Haven, CT this Saturday.
Freshman Ronea Saunders capped the Blue Devils sole victory in the high jump posting a height of 1.65m. Saunders also placed seventh in the long jump (4.99m) and helped lead Central to a fourth place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:02.17) along with sophomore Meghan Burns, Chantelle Deer, and freshman Olivia Hayward.
Senior Alasia Griebel, sophomore Shavonne Dash, senior Amanda Asaro, and sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt highlighted the distance medley winning the event in a time of 12:14.38. The relay team placed ahead of Quinnipiac and New Haven.
Placing second in the 4x800 meter relay was Central's 'A' squad featuring Asaro, Griebel, Eberhardt, and sophomore Megan MacBryde. The team crossed the line at a time of 9:37.86.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on January 20th at the Great Dane Classic in New York, NY to face off against the University of Albany.
