Women's T&F Competes at Holy Cross
Meghan Burns placed fourth in the 400m.
The Central Connecticut women's track & field placed sixth at the Holy Cross Invitational posting 36 points. The Blue Devils edged Bryant (21) who finished seventh. Host Holy Cross earned the meet's top spot winning with 224 points. UMASS (138), Hartford (127), Maine (117.5), and Stonehill (54.5) rounded out the field's top five.
In the field, junior Ahj Meeks earned a third place finish in the high jump posting a 1.50m (4'11.00") jump earning six points for the Blue Devils.
Freshman Shannon McBride ran a 12:52.42 time in the 3,000m steeplechase which was good for fourth place.
Sophomore Meghan Burns placed fourth in the 400m with her 58.86 time. The performance earned five points for the Blue Devils.
Senior Alasia Griebel sealed a fourth place standing in the 800m crossing the line at 2:15.63. Senior Amanda Asaro placed sixth in the event with a 2:16.24. The duo earned eight combined points for Central.
In the 200m dash, Rachel Dombroski stamped a fifth place finish with a time of 25.80.
LSU Alumni Gold Meet
Freshman jumper Ronea Saunders competed seperately from Central this weekend at the LSU Alumni Gold meet in Baton Rouge, LA.
The freshman placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.61m (5'3.25").
